The need to be objective

We, as by products of history and traditions had our minds molded by ideals conceived decades ago. To prevent unfair judgement, one should not see another's fault through a fixed position of prejudice. To remain objective, it is essential to sit on the fence. The "fence" is the best position where we are in quiet awareness of the entire environment and not just an object. It is the place to be at looking at all facts and yet being not for or against the subject matter.

The need for balance

An individual cannot progress without the aid of stress. Stress applies pressure that keeps the mind searching for alternatives. In an inexhaustible waterfall, the water never grows stale and is in a state of constant renewal. In the absence of stress, the mind ceases to work. When the mind ceases to work, the individual ceases to live.

Sizing down the problem

Every tiny raindrop that falls onto the ocean, disappears quickly after causing a small ripple. There is over-hyped reaction during the initial stages of problem identification. More often than not, we tend to magnify its significance and undermine our own ability to handle it. We are small in this world, therefore our problems can't be that big? Think about it against a disaster where we could not have control over, your problem will dissolve within the water, just like the raindrop merging with the ocean.

Retrenchment

When laid off, do not commit career suicide pre-maturely by taking on survival jobs. If the hiring process picks up, you may find it difficult to get back on track. Persevere on as long as your savings could afford you. Do not join the masses in their panic.

The start of a relationship is sparked by an exciting romance whereby you do your best to exceed the expectations of your partner. You begin to take things for granted as the relationship stabilizes and finally when it matures, you expect your partner to live up to your expectations.

True friends are not afraid to get on to the mud with you, in order to pull you out.

Quiet moments

Today's circumstances are a result of our past actions. We may not be able to change our present environment, but we certainly have the empowerment to alter our future.

Good ideas come and go like a butterfly. When it comes, make sure you net it on the spot.

You cannot learn to fight a war by sitting through a lecture.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but rather the best strategy should be fluid, inter-changable and adapts to the environment.

By ridding your mind of all pre-conceived ideas, you make the learning curve less steep.

Do not get too carried away by thoughts, instead allow yourself to be guided by feelings. Do what is right, and not "should be" right.
